ESHANI PATEL is a choreographer, dancer, and dentist. She first started her dance journey by learning Bharatnatyam, an Indian classical dance form, during her childhood. She completed her Arangetram after 8 years of intensive training. In college, she danced on University of Pennsylvania’s competitive Bollywood fusion dance team, Penn Masti, for 4 years, serving as the female lead her senior year. Eshani then attended the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and continued her dance journey by performing with Aluminati Dance, the national All-Star Bollywood Fusion dance team, for 2 years. After graduating dental school, she moved to Southern California in 2020 to complete her General Dental Residency at the Loma Linda VA Hospital. During this time, Eshani started learning how to shuffle and also began training in other Western dance styles such as Hip Hop and House.

From 2020-2023, Eshani grew her social media following to 1M+ across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. She coined the hashtag #desishuffle and became especially well-known for fusing shuffle footwork with various South Asian dance and music styles. For this reason, she co-founded DesiFuze in 2021 and started traveling internationally to teach classes that focused on this fusion of shuffling with South Asian dance styles. In 2022, Eshani won Season 1 Episode 8 of Shakira’s NBC Dancing With Myself and continued to grow her audience.

Currently, Eshani continues her dance training in Los Angeles, travels locally and internationally to teach both DesiFuze and Solo Bollywood Fusion Dance Workshops, and works as a part-time dentist. She continuously choreographs and creates online content as well and is a Sony Audio Ambassador. Eshani hopes to continue to spread her love for dance and her culture through her work.
